ANSWERED PRAYERS…in God’s timing not mine!!!
19 June 2008O.k…o.k..o.k…I know I have posted too much today but this blogging stuff is fun.
Well, to make a long story SHORT (well, for me anyways) we have always encouraged our kids to sing and play instruments. I grew up in a singing family. My daddy and mommy sang in a gospel group before I was even born…and until I was 8 or 9..then my daddy started pastoring. We sang from birth and then in a group while I was a teenager and up until Jeff and I were married.
Now, Cassia takes piano and Levi took one year of guitar. He learned some chords and that was about it. Well, he has taken off. He chords right along and we sing. Jeff plays guitar and mandolin some. We have just been doing our best. WELL, Levi has taken a real liking to bluegrass gospel which we like. So, he just started last night harmonizing in the van with our Doyle Lawson CD. Well, tonight we got out the guitars and sheet music and he harmonized with MANY songs. He has a natural talent and ear for it YEAH YEAH!!!! He has been asking for a banjo and he already has plunked around with a dulcimer in Ohio and did well.
Cassia will sing out and is very bold do just get up and sing. I am glad for that. We encourage them to “make a joyful noise”…key word “noise”……doesn’t have to be professional singing. Just praise.
I told them about how mommy had always wanted a singing family and that we could harmonize together. I am pretty happy. Levi has never been one to sing out real strong and he is really singing out too!!
We are very thrilled. Now, if you heard us sing you may think that someone was dying…but we think it sounds heavenly…well, the kids anyways
