Are ALL those kids yours or are you babysitting?
26 June 2008I was asked this question 2 times today while out and about with the kids. Sometimes I feel like the old woman who lived in a shoe! HA It is amazing the things we have been asked in the past 8 months, since the twins were born. We laugh! We can’t go anywhere without getting stopped SEVERAL times to answer “Are they twins”. “Boy you have your hands full”, etc…etc…etc…I could go on and on but some should not be put into print. Finally, at our last stop today I got out of the van and said LOUDLY to CAssia, “I can’t believe I agreed to watch all you kids today!” She laughed…and was embarassed because she said a man heard me!
I even had a lady in Hobby Lobby ask me one day if any were adopted or from a previous marriage. I can’t remember exactly how she stated it. I said “no, they all have the same daddy!”. Oh poor Cassia, her and Levi were slightly embarassed to say the least!!!
Tomorrow we are picking blueberries!

I can’t tell you how many looks we have received over the years!! Even just driving down the road!! One day I had my three younger ones with me at Sam’s and the clerk commented that I sure did have a lot of kids….I looked the children over, thinking they must have multiplied as we shopped, but there were still only three there. I told him…”This is only half of my children!!”
Even the nurse at my initial appointment at the ob this year asked how many pregnancies I had had….When I replied ten….she dropped her pen and just looked at me for a moment, then said, “Now, really.” I assured her that I had been pregnant ten times….It was all in my chart right in front of her. Surely she has come in contact with this before!!!

Some people need to learn when to keep their mouths shut
But, do you have to drive a schoolbus to take all those kids somewhere? LOL!! I heard someone say that to another person and I thought that is kind of rude, ya know!

Hey Stacy,
I get those comments EVERY TIME I go somewhere! I don’t know why people feel the need to comment! When they say your hand are full, I just smile and say, I know, isn’t it wonderful! I always try to say something positive, so they know that I enjoy my large family (which really isn’t that large!). I will say, I enjoy them so much, or we have a lot of fun, or something like that!
