Upcoming homeschool year curriculum
18 June 2008Planning sometimes is WAY much more fun that actually following through with all my ideas! HA
For the upcoming school year here is what I have planned:

Bethel-3 years old-Abeka nursery preschool letters and numbers. I hope to do some fun things teaching her all her letters. She knows the “B” for Bethel and the “C” for Cassia and picks them out on EVERYTHING we pass by. She knows the number 3 because that is “her number”. HA She loves computer games so I hope to get some phonics and numbers ones for her. www.abeka.com
Cassia and Levi-3rd and 5th grade-
Abeka for language, spelling, reading and math (www.abeka.com)
The Mystery of History volume 2 for history/bible (www.themysteryofhistory.com).
Bible study guide for all ages for bible (www.biblestudyguide.com); along with our MOH 2 and daily bible reading.
God’s Design: Human body from Answers in Genesis for science/human body study (http://www.answersingenesis.org/PublicStore/product/Gods-Design-for-Life-The-Human-Body,4417,191.aspx). We will also use the Christian liberty press nature reader volume 5 that is about the body . (http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?item_no=729975&event=CF)
We hope to use the Draw Write Now books again for a little Art and maybe Abeka’s art books to teach them more in depth (http://www.drawyourworld.com/drawwrite.html).
We hope to use Abeka’s Music Theory 1 book on Friday’s.
Our handwriting will be writing sympathy cards and congratulations cards to our samaritan ministries friends that are published each month in our newsletter. (www.samaritanministries.org).
I KNOW we won’t complete everything each day as I have planned. That is frustrating. But, I am aiming high this year!! HA We will also add 2 walking babies, 2 breaking of the bottles about October….etc…etc..What other drama will happen? It is yet to be seen……………….

nice blog, Stacy. Good luck to Bethal staying dry! J stays dry all night, but still has accidents during the day… I haven’t planned out my homeschool year for next year yet.

You’re so much better at homeschooling then I am. I’m too afraid to hop around trying new things for fear they won’t be what I wnat or expect & the kids won’t get what I think they ‘need’ then we’re behind AHHH!
You sure do have big expectations, with that housefull I don’t know how you do it but I admire you for doing it!!!
Oh, almost forgot I bought the Hooked on Phonics kit (for under $30) at Wal-Mart in January to teach Avery his letters & phonics, I bought the Pre-K edition and he breezed through it. It does come with a CD with a games for each letter and such on it so that might be something ‘fun’ you could look at for Bethel. I’m thinking of Abeka’s k4 stuff for him, there are 2 or 3 books but I can’t think of the exact ones off the top of my head.
