Nicknames
1 October 2008I guess all the nicknames we have in our family comes from the Short side. They seem to use a lot of nicknames. I was just thinking about how many crazy nicknames we call our kids. Here are some I thought of this morning.
Levi and Cassia never really had any. It all started with Bethel….For some reason we call her Beppie a lot. She also was the first to have a “song”. Here it is: “Bethel Joy, she’s a girl and not a boy, her Papaw’s names are Roy” (both Papaw’s have the first name Roy). Jubilee gets called Jubie…and Hoobie. Judah has the most nicknames. He gets called Judah Buddha, Judah Pooda…and Judah T. (that rhymes with nudity when he is in his diaper)! HAHAH
The older 2 made up a song for the twins when they were born. Here it is:
Judah Thomas, I promise, that I will take care of you.
Jubilee, bust my knee, that is what I would do for you!
Ok. Now you have seen into the insane side of the Short household. We have a lot of fun because all of us, including daddy, are together all day long!
Jeff refers to me as “Big Mama” but that is another story! Big Mama is the owl on Fox and the Hound but he is referring to the fact that in the south mommies are called mamas. I am not a mama here but a mommy. But, Judah can only say Mama so we hope to correct that soon! HAHAHAHA

I have a Judah Thomas, too! He is often called Judah Buddha, although Judah Bug is the more freqent nickname. Oh, and I’m in the south, so he’ll be calling me “mama” for the rest of his life
