« Going Home to West Virginia - We’re Back! »

We are in Paducah, KY

25 November 2008

Every year the church here hosts a Thanskgiving conference. A pretty big one for us.  So, we are here. We arrived monday after driving 5 hours and only stopping one time to eat and use the bathroom! YEAH!! Jeff studied on the way, the babies slept, the older 3 knitted and watched DVDs and I drove.

Monday night some friends of ours that are in Turkey now made a surprise appearance with their 6 week old twins. They surprised their families by showing up 3 weeks early. It was so great to see that reunion.  I almost cried with them. Levi didn’t understand that! HA

Monday night, at about midnight, after we were in the hotel after services and trying to get everyone to bed we had a knock at the door. I looked out the peep hole..and didn’t see anything. Jeff was the brave one and opened the door.  It was our friend from Mexico!! He had rode a bus 6 hours and then got a flight to Chicago and then drove into KY. No one knew he was coming or was here. Jeff was excited to see him.

Today we had morning service and lunch. Then I brought the twins back to the hotel for nap time while they had afternoon service. Jeff will be back to get me soon for dinner at the church and evening service that Jeff is preaching in. This is such a good time of worship and fellowship with people, old and young, that we don’t get to see often.  We have friends here also, with their 6 kids (under the age of 9) and she is expecting twins. She is Japanese and such a sweet lady. We have had fun, all the moms of twins, talking.

Can’t wait to get to WV tomorrow night for Thanksgiving and give mom and dad a big hug and kiss. I know they are really wanting to see the grandbabies but certainly they can at least hug me first??? HA
