Proverbs 9:9

[ <1 minutes to read ]

Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
– Proverbs 9:9

[O]ne of the marks of attaining wisdom is being teachable (Proverbs 1:5). It is an attitude that contrasts with the scorner previously mentioned. Growing wiser and increasing learning show that wisdom is never attained to the full, but it a lifelong pursuit for the serious. Being teachable means receiving correction (Proverbs 3:11; 17:10), wise counsel (Proverbs 13:10), and direct commandments (Proverbs 10:8). For all this, the wise grow wiser.
